Since Bed and Breakfasts are not for everyone, Rebecca and I also visited this newer hotel property (built Dec. 2006) on the extreme north end of Salado at I-35 Exit 286. When in industry, I traveled several days each month and always appreciated the predictability of Holiday Inn Express. Each is very like the other, so you know what to expect. This property features a free continental breakfast 6:30-9:30a M-F and 7-10a on the weekends, a pool, an exercise room, free wired and wireless internet connections, a 75 seat conference center, and easy access to the Interstate. If you are "trailering", this property has ample parking/turnaround room.

This property is located at Exit 292 right off of Interstate 35 between Belton and Salado on the west side of the Interstate. There is a really good local steakhouse called the Oxbow located just a few steps out the door (no vehicle required). The Bell County Expo Center is also located within walking distance and is home to all manner of events ranging from trade shows to concerts to rodeos."
