Located at 488 Rose Lane on the outskirts of Salado, this property is owned by the Kirchner Family. Rhonda is very gracious and attentive to her guests needs. The Bit O Kountry cottage is "a relaxing blend of city comfort & small town charm...a truly distinctive place to stay."
When my wife, Rebecca, and I first met Rhonda and looked at the property, the huge garden tub immediately caught Rebecca's eye. This property is off the beaten path, surrounded by trees, and has a country feel to it, with country decor and furnishings. If you are "trailering", this property has ample parking/turnaround room.

Since Bed and Breakfasts are not for everyone, Rebecca and I also visited this brand new (Dec. 2006) hotel property on the extreme north end of Salado. When in industry, I traveled several days each month and always appreciated the predictability of Holiday Inn Express. Each is very like the other, so you know what to expect. This property features a free continental breakfast 6:30-9:30a M-F and 7-10a on the weekends, a pool, an exercise room, free wired and wireless internet connections, a 75 seat conference center, and easy access to the Interstate. If you are "trailering", this property has ample parking/turnaround room.

Located less than 15 minutes from our local airport and our local lakes, this property is on the more recently developed south side of Killeen, right off the US Highway 190 frontage road. This property also provides easy access to Ft. Hood, Killeen's "restaurant row", and a Super Wal-Mart. The hotel is 11 years old and was completely remodeled in 2006; it features a free continental breakfast 6:30-9:30a M-F and 6:30-10a on the weekends, a "cardio" exercise room, and DSL/LAN internet connections.
